It has traditionally been the case that men do all the running while women sit back shyly and wait for the male to make the first move. This has largely fallen out of favour in the last few years – or has it?
Try visiting an Online dating service, even subscribe yourself and you will see that many women do in fact want the men to take the lead in certain areas.
Whether it is biological or sociological (and I do not want to sound sexist as I am female myself) some women do prefer men to make the first moves in the dating game. This can be for several reasons – lack of self-confidence, a sense of tradition or the fear that the man will find them too forward.
Looking at the descriptions on many of the online dating sites, many women do portray themselves very much in the feminine and helpless role. On that crucial first date, many would be horrified if the guy split the bill (although many women would deny this) and if he did not offer to get a taxi to take her home.
Most women will not admit to this but I have seen and heard it enough times to know that it is the case. And personally? I would prefer to be chased after rather than doing the chasing!
